Key Features

Here’s a snapshot of all the key features that make H2H DigitalRx an even more efficient tool for all prescribing requirements.

New Rx

When a Prescriber needs to prescribe medicines for the first time, s/he needs to use the New Rx function.

Electronic Prescribing of
Controlled Substances
Electronic prescribing of controlled substances, or EPCS, is the electronic transmission of a prescription for a controlled substance to a pharmacy. Prescribers are encouraged to write and transmit prescriptions for controlled substances electronically to increase safety and security. By way of regulation pharmacists are permitted to receive, dispense, and archive the electronic prescriptions sent to them by the prescriber.
Electronic Prior
Authorization

Electronic prior authorization gives physicians a faster, easier, and more efficient method to ensure patients are prescribed the most cost-effective and clinically appropriate medications.

Refill Rx

When a provider orders a prescription, he or she may also authorize a certain number of refills. This allows the patient to fill the prescription and then refill it up to the authorized number of times. A prescription is only valid for one year from the day the provider ordered it.

H2H DigitalRx
Virtual Assistant
More than just a Virtual Assistant, this new feature simulates human conversations and provides a convenient way for Prescribers to reach out for assistance, right from their computer or mobile device, negating the need for telephone calls or email messages to receive immediate answers to almost 70% of the Prescriber’s questions. This Virtual Assistant utilizes artificial intelligence and will become smarter and even more capable in the coming months as the result.
Real-Time Prescription
Benefit

Delivers patient-specific benefit and cost information in the electronic workflow that addresses patient prescription cost questions.

Cancel Rx &
Rx Change

A physician can review medication history and can cancel a particular drug. Physicians can also cancel the whole prescription with the help of the Cancel Rx option. Prescribers can Change Rx in case any medicine is not available at the pharmacy.

Real-Time Formulary

Prescribers can now obtain the formulary status of most medications, payer-provided alternatives, any coverage factors, along with co-pay details, at the point of creating the prescription via real-time request and response messaging from Surescripts.

Medication History

A physician can select the patient to prescribe and then click on the Medication History tab, which will display the patient’s medical history with all the active prescriptions. The prescriber can review drug-allergy and drug-drug interaction information, and drug-to-food interactions.

H2H DigitalRx Integration Models

For the prescribers who are not associated with EMR (Electronic Medical Record), EHR (Electronic Health Record), or MAR (Medicine Administration Record) system can use “stand-alone” H2H DigitalRx access at their Point-of-Care to send the prescriptions. Each prescriber will have a unique user ID and an individual password to login at H2H DigitalRx e-prescription platform for sending prescriptions.
H2H DigitalRx can also be accessed from EMR (Electronic Medical Record), EHR (Electronic Health Record), or MAR (Medicine Administration Record) system through one or more “prescribe” links or buttons provided within the EMR system.

Logging in to the EMR system uniquely identifies the user and the care location from which the user is currently prescribing to H2H DigitalRx. All authentication activities happen behind the scenes. The user is not required to separately provide identity credentials to H2H DigitalRx.
Connecting to an H2H DigitalRx service through an API is often the best and fastest solution to provide key functionality within your EMR application without logging into H2H DigitalRx application.

H2H DigitalRx exposes its web APIs using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) which can be easily consumed by the EMR application. Once integrated, the relevant functionalities are available within the EMR system.
